Sorry everyone, but I’m definitely NOT recovered, and the famous “Post-Thanksgiving Digestion Yoga Class” will have to be canceled. After the nerve block on my arm wore off on Saturday, and the pain set in, I realized what a big deal this break is. Serious. I’m still in pain, but you will be happy to know that I’m beginning to cut down on the percosets. I have my follow up appointment with the surgeon on Monday, and will know more then. At this point, the substitute teachers are in charge at least until Wednesday, Nov. 28. Private sessions are also still on hold. I will post more as I progress.

• for all the flowers and food sent over
• for all the calls and emails (even if I haven’t personally responded)
• for better living through chemistry at this juncture
• for my fabulous substitute teachers: Susan, Joe, Tracie, Jessica, and Ina
• for the yogi doctors at Benedictine & Dutchess Orthopedic for the yogi support
• for all the inversions I’ve done in the past, no matter how horrible they were, and my longing wish to revisit them again fully for the rest of my life
• for Ramaa who came down from Vermont to attend to me during surgery
• for Judy to magically appear in recovery for me
• for Martin who canceled a shoot to be with me this week
• for such great students for understanding

I’m out. Got home at 10:20 pm. I got a nerve block for my entire left arm post surgey, since the morphine wasn’t enough. So now the whole arm is tuned off. No pain, no sensation, no movement, nothing. It’s supposed to last 18 hours, then the other drugs. So… more news tomorrow, when next phase kicks in. We had a fun party in post op, Ramaa was taking great care of me, and my bestest friend Judy (20+ year friend), who lives in Barrytown, came over. We ate health food store junk food, vitamin water, curry cashews, etc. Oh, and when I was in first part of recovery (with the morphine) the nurses were freely giving me water and (YAY!!!) BLACK COFFEE!!! I feel ok right now. No anethesia hang over. Tomorrow, resting and pain management. Class updates later… Thanks for all your love and well wishes.

Thank you everyone for the well wishes. I am going in for surgery at 12:45 on Friday at Northern Dutchess in Rhinebeck. I am not staying over. Substitute teachers are listed below for the first part of next week. I will send out an email over the weekend updating everyone on future class schedules, surgery results, and other things. Thank you for all your concern. My friend Ramaa is here from Vermont taking care of me while Martin is away. More info to come soon. And yes, it hurts. And yes, I have meds…
