Pisano Workshop Today

Filed under: Asana, Classes, Schedule, Woodstock Events, Yoga — bb @ 2:18 pm

There is still space available! Come to today’s Workshop:

Christian Pisano & June Whittaker
Put Goals Aside, Seek Tranquility
Wednesday, Feb. 25, 4-7pm, $60

This will be a Level I-II workshop. No one will be turned away if you think you have injuries. June is an expert at propping and alternative postures. COME!
When we observe we are no longer stimulated by a goal-orientated practice, we are often confronted with meaningless routine. But this could well be a necessary passage allowing us to ask ourselves the essential question: What was the initial thrill, what triggered our commitment to a practice? The question ‘Who am I?’ urges us to explore the texture of the body-mind organism. All levels and students of all yogas are invited to this early evening workshop to pursue this exploration.

Christian Pisano has been practicing Iyengar Yoga for many years. More than 20 years ago he lived in Pune India for several years in order to be close to and learn directly from his guru, Yogacharya Shri B.K.S. Iyengar. Christian holds an Advanced Teacher’s Certificate. He continues to study with the Iyengars annually in Pune. With his wife June Whittaker, herself a Senior Level 3 Certified Teacher, they jointly direct the Iyengar Yoga Institute of Nice, France. www.anuttara.com

I am honored to have such a high level yogi coming to teach in Woodstock. I have practiced right next to Christian in Pune many times. There are only a handful of Advanced Iyengar teaches in the world. Christian is sensitive, wise and has a brilliant practice. Come and get some real gems of wisdom for your winter yoga hibernation sadhana.

Q & A: Creating a Heartfelt Yoga Practice
Kevin Gardiner
Friday, Feb. 20, 5:30-7pm
$10 (if not attending the Weekend Workshop)

Bring your questions! This VERY informal Q&A will be held at my home studio,
21 Witchtree Road, Woodstock NY 12498
Because of the SNOW and limited parking spaces, this is a MANDATORY CARPOOL EVENT (unless you’ve already talked to me about it). I have space for only seven cars MAX. And the driveway is icey, so don’t even try.

The CAR POOL SPOT is at Bradley Meadows Parking Lot. (Sunflower Health Food Store & Bank of America on Mill Hill Road/Rt 212). Please park nearer to Bank of America, by the main road. SARA MIOT will be co-ordinating the car pools.  THE CARS LEAVE AT 5:15.  DO NOT BE LATE!  If you get there and you think you’ve missed the car pools, WAIT, and start another one in 10 minutes…. someone else will be late too. It always happens. DO NOT PARK on the road by my house. You will get hit.
