This Wednesday Only, April 29: Special “Mid-Week Yoga Vacation” Deal!

Filed under: Classes, Schedule, Woodstock Events, Yoga — bb @ 4:06 pm

Who doesn’t need a Yoga Vacation? Come this week to the Level I-II Class, and stay on in savasana for the Special One-Time-Only, “Check it Out” Restorative Class beginning immediately afterwards!

Wednesday, April 29, Level I-II, 4:30-6:00 pm, $15 for the class
and immediately afterwards:
A Special One Time “Check it Out” Restorative Class, 6:15-8:00 pm,
$15 for the class

Mountain View Studio, Woodstock

The Wednesday class is the best class for continuing yogis who want detailed instruction and to progress in their Yoga practice. This class is a good introduction to how I teach for students from other yoga traditions. It is a smaller, calmer class than Sunday’s: meaning more attention to you and your practice.

Beginning immediately after the Level I-II Class will be the much needed “Restorative for Recession Recovery” class! This week you can have a sample “taste” of what an hour and forty-five minutes of restorative practice and pranayama can do. Have an ‘in-town’ vacation and go home refreshed and balanced in body, mind and breath. Here’s a chance to check it out before committing to the entire series:

Restorative / Pranayama Course, $120 for 6 Week Series
Wednesdays, May 6 – June 10, 6:15-8:00 pm

The Restorative Course is offered as a series because the pranayama practice will be progressive. There will be one make up day on Wednesday night: June 24, 6:15-8:00 pm. Please email me to sign up in advance. You can pay by credit card at www.PayPal.com (use this address to send payment to: bxboris@yahoo.com). The individual class on Wednesday, April 29 can be paid for with your class card.

New Class Times Start This Week

Filed under: Classes, Schedule — bb @ 5:03 pm

In the beginning of March I took a survey about adjusting the class schedule.
Here are the results. The new times start THIS WEEK. I hope this gives everyone more time in their day and more opportunity to practice more yoga!

p.s. you can always call 845 679-3728 “The Yoga Phone” for class updates.

Sunday, General Level, 9-10:30 am
The new time starts THIS SUNDAY, APRIL 26.

This is the same as the ongoing 10:00 am class that I’ve been teaching for years, but now I am shifting it to an earlier time so we all can have more of a Sunday.

Monday, Level I Basics, 10:00-11:130 am
The new time starts THIS MONDAY, APRIL 27.

A reminder to you ‘missing’ students, this is the perfect class for raw beginners or those with some issue that keeps them from attending most other yoga classes. Every pose will be done with careful attention to detail, slowly, so no one is left out. There will be NO Sun Salutations, NO jumpings, NO headstand, and a LONG final relaxation at the end now that the class is a full hour and a half.

OM for Peace, Easter Sunday, April 12

Filed under: Woodstock Events — bb @ 5:48 am

It’s a simple idea: gather people together and sing a continuous OM as a meditation for peace.

On Easter Sunday, April 12th, 2008 at 6:00-7:00 PM EDT, people, all over the world, who want to give expression to their wish for peace will gather in groups to join in the sound of many voices singing as one in an extended OM.

In Woodstock, we will be chanting at Mountain View Studio, led by Baird Hersey and Prana. It’s FREE! Come and chant OM with us.More...

Each person, as a meditation on peace, sings their own note at their own rate guided by their breath. Within the group this builds an exquisitely beautiful, rising and falling, subtly changing, continuos chord. Many voices resonating together in one sound. How to do this? Set a place to gather; yoga studio, mediation center, dance studio, theater, or living room. Spread the word and invite as many people as you can. Begin at 6:00 PM, Eastern Daylight Time, and sing OM as long as the sound wants to go on, hopefully for at least an hour. Even if you can’t get together with other people sing on your own knowing that people in other places are singing with you. People of all faiths and beliefs are welcome. No musical experience is necessary only the willingness to add your voice for peace to the sound of OM. AND it’s free! This is Prana’s seventh year doing this event. Last year Baird heard from people all over the country who had participated.

I look forward to seeing you there!
