Live Your Yoga – Special Friday Series while I’m in India

Filed under: Asana, Classes, India, Iyengar, Schedule, Woodstock Events, Yoga — bb @ 6:16 am

While I’m gone instead of the Friday Level II-II Class there will be an 9-week series based on B.K.S. Iyengar’s Light on Yoga “back of the book” sequence that I often teach. This will be a one hour group practice. It’s a perfect opportunity to make a commitment to your practice and to really learn to “Live Your Yoga.”

The Series is open to all levels of students. You must practice during the week and follow the series as presented by Mr. Iyengar. This is a great chance to learn the Sanskrit names and to really learn the to practice the asanas to the best of your own ability. There will be one minute timings on standing postures, 10 minute salamba sarvangasana (shoulder stand), 5 minute halasana. (You can come out of asanas as you need to.) Discussion of yamas and niyamas and their relationship to living your yoga will also take place.

We need a minimum of 5 people to make this series happen.  Please email Arlene (arlene.mattera@earthlink.net) by next Wednesday, Jan 19, if you are planning to enroll and she will email you back by Thursday, Jan. 20 to confirm the series is happening.

LIVE YOUR YOGA
Fridays, January 21 – March 18
10:45 a.m. – 12:00 noon
Mountain View Studio
$55 for entire series

If more than 5 people enroll the price will be adjusted downward.
 No refunds for missed sessions.

If you don’t have a copy of Light on Yoga or a timer for your home practice they will be available for purchase at the studio.

This really is an amazing opportunity to develop a self practice. We worked with this same premise in the Advanced Sadhana Intensive in 2009. You DO NOT need to be an advanced student to do this practice. It really is VERY easy and incredibly instructive about yoga and your life. COME!
