6 Healing Sounds Qigong
Based on Chinese medicinal principles, this sitting Qigong involves simple arm movements synchronized with the breath and meditation to relieve stress, cool the inner organs, and cultivate tranquility, energizing the body with regular practice. Useful for anyone in any stage of health or healing and an essential component of the Bone Health Practice.
Microcosmic Orbit Meditation
Awaken your life force energy (Chi), open your major acupuncture meridians and learn to circulate energy internally. These sitting practices manage stress, calm the mind and energize the body. MCO is the foundation of sexual energy cultivation, circulation, emotional energy work and internal alchemy which are aspects of the bone.
Saturday is a pre-requisite to Sunday’s session which will include Qigong, meditation and bone hitting practices.

From medical studies we know that the loss of estrogen is a factor in bone density and Alzheimer’s disease. Circulating the reproductive energy to “fertilize” the brain is one of the keys to bone health.

The slow progressive thinning and weakening of bones, has been called “The Silent Thief.” As the population ages, the problem is reaching epidemic proportions. Each year, there are an estimated 500,000 spinal fractures, 300,000 hip fractures, 200,000 broken wrists and 300,000 fractures of other bones. About 80 percent of these fractures occur from minor falls or accidents. Between 25% and 60% of women over age 60 years develop spinal compression fractures. In most of the world, by age 90, one third of all women and 17% of men have sustained a hip fracture. All women over 50 are at high risk because estrogen protects bones and helps calcium absorption.
The good news is there is a lot you can do to prevent and in some cases treat osteoporosis without resorting to pharmaceutical drugs! But diet alone won’t do it. Weight bearing exercise is helpful but limited. However, if you add the essential ingredients of Qigong (working with your life force energy), Bone Tapping and Sexual Energy techniques, you have a winning formula.
Sharon has practiced Tai Chi, Qigong, and Taoist meditation for 31 years. Her primary teachers in the Taoist tradition have been Mantak Chia, Li Jun Feng, Ming Chan, & T.K. Shih. A Senior Universal Tao Instructor with over 20 years of teaching experience and a Chi Nei Tsang practitioner, Sharon is also certified to teach by the International Sheng Zhen Society. She has practiced Iyengar yoga for over 25 years. Sharon has attended numerous Qigong teacher-training programs in the U.S. and abroad, traveling to India, the Philippines, New Zealand, China, and Thailand many times to further her studies. A regular teacher at the New York Open Center as well as other institutions in the New York City area, she was a presenter at the International Tai Chi Symposium in 2009 and was the spokesperson for Qigong on the PBS syndicated television show, “Asian America.” Sharon is an artist whose photographs have been widely exhibited in the U.S. and abroad. A practicing astrologer in New York City since 1982, she was the Chinese astrology columnist for Asian Food and Lifestyle Magazine.
