MONDAY, LEVEL I, 10-11:30
JOE BARTUSIS has been teaching yoga since 2003 when he became a certified Jivamukti Yoga Teacher. At that time he also began practicing Iyengar Yoga with Barbara. As his interest in Iyengar Yoga increased he began to take workshops and regular classes at the Iyengar Institute in New York City with Kevin Gardiner. This training and his continued practice led Joe to begin teaching Iyengar Yoga and to join Joan White’s Iyengar Yoga Teacher Training Program in Philadelphia in 2006. In 2008 Joe met Christian Pisano, a Senior Iyengar Teacher from Nice, France. He has taken a two week intensive with him in France, brought him to Woodstock in 2009 for the Winter Woodstock Yoga Intensive and has developed a sense of awe of what can be done and where we could go with yoga.
JULIE KIRKPATRICK began studying yoga in 1986, at Jivamukti Yoga in a NYC basement on Avenue B, completing the Jivamukti Yoga Teacher Training program in May 2003 and passing the Jivamukti Advanced Certification Board in 2005. Julie teaches according to what she has learned (and continues to learn!) in her alliance with David Life and Sharon Gannon of Jivamukti Yoga, always using their creative teachings as her source of inspiration. Julie teaches a class, “that she would like to take herself.” As a close friend in my extended yoga family, Julie is happy to return to teach the Level I Basics Class on Mondays at 10-1130. tel: 845 679-2664
CARLY BROOME’s journey through the study of movement began at a young age as a dancer. What began as a hobby quickly turned into a love of expressing through movement and becoming more aware of the physical body. In her mid-twenties, she discovered Yoga, and was swept away by it’s profound capabilities to transform the body, the mind, and the spirit. In 2008 she received her 200 hour teacher certification through Satya Yoga Center and is a Registered Instructor with Yoga Alliance. Carly strives to make everyone who walks into her class comfortable and at ease, to be honest with themselves on the Yoga mat (and off the Yoga mat), and to listen to their body. tel: 845 249-8511
